How to support someone living with dementia (inc. ‘Real Life with dementia’ training for carers), 14 September

This three hour event will help you to understand how best to support someone living with dementia. This event will be interactive with plenty of time for questions. The following individuals will be present during the afternoon;
Dr Maria-Paloma Sequeiros (Older Adults Psychiatrist for the South Gloucestershire Complex Interventions Team), Cheryl Buckley (Community Psychiatric Nurse for the South Gloucestershire Complex Interventions Team) and Beth Tovey (Dementia day opportunities manager for South Gloucestershire) who will be presenting the Real Life with dementia’ training for carers.
Sharon Parsons (Dementia care trainer, Occupational Therapist, and co-lead of the Education workstream for the Dementia HIT), who will discuss supporting someone living with dementia in a hospital environment.
Dr Hazel Boyd (User interface engineer with Designability), and Liz Freeman (WE Care and Repair), who will discuss assistive devices and technology, along with tips about choosing and using technology, as well as non-tech approaches.
Staff from the Carers Support Centre will be discussing ways carers can be supported in supporting someone living with dementia.
