Online consultations may help to increase patient access to general practice while potentially reducing GP workload from face to face consultations. This study describes the mixed methods evaluation of the pilot implementation of eConsult, a web-based platform allowing patients to access advice and care via their own CP practice website, in 36 GB practices in Bristol and the surrounding area. The pilot was part of the One Care Consortium’s ambition to improve patient access to primary care funded by the Prime Minister’s Challenge Fund and independently evaluated by researchers’ from NIHR CLAHRC West.
In the seminar we will summarise
- the number and type of patient using the online system, when they accessed it and for what reason
- the acceptability of the system to clinicians, practice staff and patients and
- whether the system improved the ability to manage access to primary care
Everyone is welcome. The seminar is free to attend. Please confirm your attendance by completing the following registration form – https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/SXJW8RM
